Day 1 - Official Start of Project

End of Day 1

We just came back from our 1st official day as Consultants with the non profit organization we were assigned to.

Our day started with early breakfast at our hotel and a drive to the SAP Colombia office where we met all the 4 organizations that the sub-teams will be working with. They are SOLE Colombia, Genesys, Fundacion Capital and Proyectar Sin Fronteras. These organizations are doing great work within Colombia in both education, micro-financing, sustainable organic farming and youth empowerment. After each organization's presentation, the consultants for each sub-team supporting the organizations also introduced themselves to everyone.

Team SOLE

Our sub-team of 3 will be working with an organization called SOLE (Self Organized Learning Environments) Colombia (http://www.solecolombia.org/). This organization is an innovation in education using information and communications technology to create a school in the cloud The SOLE concept was developed by Sugata Mitra in India. SOLE Colombia believes in the future of learning spreading through the use of large scale SOLE methodology in every corner of Colombia.

After the intro sessions and  team presentations, all teams went off with their respective clients to kick off our projects. We went to the SOLE office and got to meet more SOLE team members then headed out for lunch, where we spoke in Spanglish :-). Great effort from everyone in breaking down language barriers!

Upon our return to the office we spent the rest of the afternoon with Sanjay (Director) for an overview of SOLE and also to go over our assignment as consultants. It is so amazing what they have been able to achieve in the last couple of years as an organization.

Day 2 promises to be another interesting and fact finding day.. Stay Tuned...
